Neil Mattson of Pro Inspections is a CREIA Certified Inspector (California Real Estate Inspection Association) and an ASHI Certified Inspector (American Society of Home Inspectors). Please keep in mind that home inspectors are not licensed in the State of California. Therefore, no testing is involved to become a home inspector. Saying this, a Certified CREIA Inspector (California Real Estate Inspection Association)  must successfully pass a comprehensive written examination of the property systems. He must also  maintain 30 hours of continuing education each year.  ASHI Certified inspectors (American Society of Home Inspectors) must also successfully pass a comprehensive written examination of the property systems and maintain 20 hours of continuing education each year and perform 250 paid inspections before they are certified.  Before you hire your home inspector go to www.CREIA.org and www.ASHI.org to find out if they are a member of one or both of these associations.
